Product Description
Okito Blox takes the classic concept of the Okito Box into a new dimension, with a solid cube and a versatile set of props designed to work together. The result is not just one trick, but a complete system for vanishes, appearances, switches, penetrations, and transpositions.
The set includes the Boston Blox, the cube, the specially designed rattle lid, the bag, and the solid box.
Everything has been designed to work together, creating a compact set of props capable of producing a huge range of magic.
At the heart of the Okito Blox tutorial are 15 core moves and techniques, alongside subtleties, mini effects, complete routines and full performances.
The routines span a range of difficulty levels, from easy handlings to more challenging sequences.
Techniques and effects include:
The Turnover
A deceptive way to secretly reverse the box, once mastered this becomes an essential technique.
Fake Shake
create the convincing sound and illusion that the cube is still inside, when in reality it's elsewhere!
Finger Tip Roll
A natural rolling action that secretly changes the orientation of the box.
Through the Hand
A visual penetration of the block through your hand.
Fake Insert
Apparently place the cube inside the box whilst secretly retaining it.
The Drop
A handling inspired by the classic Denemark Drop.
The Teleporting Blox
Cause the cube to impossibly travel from one location to another.
Smashed Through
A direct and visual penetration where the cube passes straight through into the sealed box.
The Drop Out
Secretly cause the cube to pass straight back out again.
Pushed Through
Slam the cube straight through the box whilst it's sealed.
Palm Switch
A practical way to secretly switch the Boston Blox for the Solid/Plug Blox.
Bobo Switch
A classic switching principle adapted specifically for Okito Blox.
You'll also learn a collection of mini effects and sequences, including:
Kick Back Monte
The cube travels from the box to your pocket and from your pocket back to the box.. before the routine takes another unexpected turn.
Cube to Bag
Seal the cube inside the box, then make it vanish and impossibly reappear on top of the bag.
Cube to Bag.. Simplified
A streamlined approach to the Cube to Bag sequence above that is semi-automatic.
Boxed and Bagged
The cube vanishes from the box and reappears inside a previously examined, empty bag, right under the spectator's nose.
And because the set includes the Solid Box, you can finish with one of the strongest possible finale: after apparently manipulating the cube inside the box throughout the routine, the box itself is revealed to be completely solid.
The specially designed lid also incorporates a built-in rattle principle, allowing you to convincingly create the sound of the cube moving inside the box, even when it isn't there.
It's these subtleties and nuances that make Okito Blox so deceptive.
When the moves, sounds, timing and handling are layered together, simple actions become incredibly convincing and allow you to build powerful routines from a remarkably small set of props.
The tutorial also includes two complete performance routines, showing you how the individual techniques can be combined into strong, structured pieces of magic that you can learn and add to your repertoire.
But Okito Blox is designed to go much further than the routines taught.
